Love Actually

It was a big day yesterday for Invictus Love Actually. She was at the first show of the year in British Columbia and after a couple days 'practice' in the ring Taryn guided Rifka to her final points to become Invictus' third Canadian Champion. This photo is the moment of the win and in it is Taryn and Rifka on the right and Barb Turpin(Of Course Ridgebacks) and her boy Jack who won breed on the left. (Photo credit to Barb's photographer and Barb for making it available)
Taryn has been unflailingly patient and such a good sport about showing this pretty girl from Halo's second litter. Never losing faith and never giving up in the very stiff BC competition Taryn and Rifka always attended shows to have a good time and to learn from other breeders and handlers. I am ever grateful to the Ridgeback exhibitors of BC for helping Taryn when she needed advice and assistance.
Rifka, being her third Champion progeny, qualifies Halo for her Canadian Register of Merit, a distinction that recognizes a broodbitch's ability to produce good quality offspring. Hopefully Archer can add to that in the coming year!
The future is bright for Rifka who will have her health testing done in the next few months and decisions will be made about what stud Taryn will use to start her breeding program. These are exciting times in 2010 and it may be just my opinion, but this seems like a pretty darn good way to start!

That is SO exciting! Way to go Taryn and Rifka. And you too Tamzin, for being such a supportive RR breeder, whether to show people or pet people. Or to those who waiver in the middle for a year. :)
