Another Exciting Day

But not the fun kind of exciting - well I lie. It was actually pretty hilarious since no one got hurt. This is the aftermath ... I had plans on Christmas Eve to go to my frined Tanja's house to a lovely dinner with her family except it was spoiled by the arrival of 12 little bundles of joy. The idea was that she'd save some of the dinner and come over in the new year to essentially re-enact what I missed. A lovely thought.

The dinner was meat fondue; you heat up oil, have some dipping sauces and cube some really superb fillet mingon. The process is very simple and the result is very yummy. It's a little involved tho so you have to really want to do it. Really wanting and doing it properly are not the same thing.

So I guess "boiling smoking oil on verge of bursting into flame" does not a fondue make. The point where it burst into flame was pretty exciting, fortunately by that point we had moved the pot to the front step because the house was full of oily smoke. I have to thank my grade 6 home economics teacher for branding the baking soda rule so well into my brain. Tanja had taken the lid off the oil to see what was going on in there and the sudden oxygen caused it to burst into flame. See all those leaves? Ya. It burned itself out after a few moments of drama and took another 90 minutes to cool in -5 weather. The house has been Febreezed and Air Wicked within an inch of it's life. It's cheese and chocolate fondues only from now on.

Okay enough drama - puppy pictures. Space is at a premium now as they have gotten rather large. They also eat really fast now, get fuller quicker and fall asleep faster. Hooray! Eyes are opening and they are toddling around - well, a couple toddle really well, the really fat light wheaton girl does not even try. She's such a porker. She's easy to pick out there right in the middle.

And since space is now at a premium it's a good thing puppies are stackable.
